Happy Birthday Card

I don't usually make time to create cards.  With such limited scrappy time I have a tendency to stick to layouts.  I do enjoy creating them though.  So with 2 challenges I thought I'd give them a try.  At Memorable Seasons they are having a Throwdown Challenge throughout the summer.  I don't think I'll get to them all but wanted to try.  The first challenge was to create a card with this criteria:

(1) I love a cute crinkle cut! Dust off that paper crimper! I want to see crinkles! If you don't have one, feel free to use fabulous corrugated paper! Or cardboard! Or accordion fold back and forth and make your own crinkles! I would even consider scrunched ribbon to be a little crinkly! ;)

(2) I love the cup of ketchup in the photo, so add a splash of bold COLOR!

(3) Potatoes are pale in color wrapped around a darker color outside color! Interpret that any way you wish!

Plus at Paper Secrets, there is this sketch challenge:

Here is what I came up with using Crate Paper Storyteller which is the stash I'm trying to slash at My Scraps and More:

All Grown Up

There is a fun contest going on at My Scraps and More called You've Got Talent.  The first challenge was a big challenge for me.  It's to create a layout without any patterned paper.  Yikes!  But after calming down and going through my stash I came up with a few ideas.  Then it helped to use the fun color challenge at Color Me Scrappy and you had to use this sketch.

Here is what I came up with:

I can't say it's my favorite layout but for this no pp challenge it works.  Thank heavens for washi tape! Thanks for stopping by!

4th Grade

Have you figured out how much I love sketches yet?  I love how easy they make the scrappy process.  And My Scraps has some really fun ones!  I knew I wanted to play with this one as it was very unique.  It ended up being a little bit harder to use than I thought but it finally worked out.  Here is the sketch I chose to work with.

I rotated it.  I also used it for the Slash Your Stash challenge at My Scraps.  With the Crate Paper Storyteller line I thought it was perfect for a school photo, which I rarely remember to scrap.  Then Colorful Creations had a challenge to use Washi Tape.  This is what I came up with.

Sweet Baby

My grandma went through all of her old photographs and she gave back all the photos sent to her throughout the years.  My mom gave me a fun little bag of duplicate photos of me as a baby.  We lived in Germany at the time so she sent a lot of photos of us as little girls.  So I thought it would be fun to scrap them.

I, also, wanted to try for the GDT position at Back Porch Memories.  I love Paula's kits!  Years ago I got her kits and loved them.  Hence, my huge paper collection.  Here is the sketch we need to use:

Then, of course I added a challenge at Colorful Creations to use
banner + layers +hearts

And then there's the fun Slash Your Stash at My Scraps. I'm hoping to use up my Crate Paper Storyteller line.  Here's what I created:
