Scrap our Stash Book Inspired Stash Challenge

Hey there.  I was able to get this challenge done over at Scrap Our Stash.

My colors weren't quite as bright but they are similar plus I chose to use the banner as those are on most of my layouts anyway. I also used a white background like the color of the wall.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a happy, scrappy day!

The Scraproom Freaky Fast Friday Challenge

Over at The Scraproom there was a challenge to use this formula to create a layout.

I found this old Disney photo and got to work.  Here is what I created

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a fabulous day!

Counterfeit Member's Blog Hop

Welcome to my part of the CKCB Members' Blog Hop. You should have come here from Jemma's blog. If not, you might want to go to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and start from the beginning so you don't miss out on any of the fun blog posts. This is my first month playing along with this fun challenges site and have had so much fun I thought I'd share what I've created.
I chose to share: Challenge #2 Use print media (newspapers, magazines, junk mail, catalogues) as the starting point for a layout. Colours, words, layout, even the story. could all be a source of inspiration. Or incorporate some into the project itself!
Here is my inspiration piece.  I was inspired by the mixed letters of the title. Years ago mixed titles were all the rage so I started to organize my miscellaneous alphabets by letter.  When I saw this mixed title I knew right where to find letters to help me create this title for my layout.

And here is my project :

Thanks for stopping by and now you should hop over to Natalie to see what she's created.

The full blog hop list will be published on the  CKCB    or you can see it below in case you get lost along the way.
Here's the order for the Blog Hop (you don't have to include the list in your post but you must link to the person below you in the list):

Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Challenge #1

When I was getting ready to go to my retreat I came upon this fun blog where you use a recent kit offered and recreate your own based off of the inspiration kit.  I knew this would be perfect for me to use up some of my stash.  Heaven knows I have a TON to work with.  It's always fun to get a kit and be inspired to create so I thought I'd give this a try.

Here is the inspiration kit for March:
I love patterned paper and knew it needed to be in my kit so I pulled a combination of Basic Grey, October Afternoon and Simple Stories papers/embellishments to begin.  I stayed with the photo/instagram/camera theme and added several 2x3 styled cards.

Here is my version of the kit.

Yes, I know it's a LOT of stuff but I've used quite a bit so far and it feels great to use up products I've had for a long time. Here is one of the challenges that inspired me to use my kit:

Challenge #1 Base a project on something spotted on Pinterest. But, here's the twist, it can't be a craft project (so no layouts, minis or mixed media as inspiration.)

So off I went to my Pinterest Boards and this is what I found that inspired me:

 Blue Paint Colors!:
I was inspired by the different size circles on this so I got to work and this is my end result:

It was fun challenging myself to use products in my kit and I stayed within my created kit.  Try it out for yourself.  There are several challenges to play along with.  Be sure and check back Thursday as I participate in the Member Blog Hop.  Have a great day!

Sketches All Around

So I'm back with a few more layouts from my scrappy retreat last week.  I can't express how great it was to create again.  Here are a few more challenges I participated in all using sketches (my favorite challenges):

First, here is a layout I created from this fun Laura Whitaker sketch for Stuck?! Sketches

Here is my take on it using one of my son's Senior Portraits.  He loved dressing up every Friday when he was in high school and would ask for new suits/dress clothes.  Love this photo of him.

My 2nd layout I thought I'd share is created from a Sketches in Thyme sketch.

And here is my take on it using a Valentines photo of me and my husband taken a few years ago.

And last but definitely not least, here is a layout I created using a Sketch-N-Scrap sketch for their Throwback Thursday series.  I also did a pattern challenge to use chevons over at Scrapbook Challenges.

And here is my take on it.  I rotated it to match the orientation of my photo:

That's it for today.  I have a few more to share tomorrow plus later this week I'm sharing a few for a blog hop for Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog so be sure and check back Thursday for that. Have a fabulous day!

The Scrap Room Guest DT Sketch Challenge

I love a good sketch challenge!  And Rochelle always does amazing sketches.  She just took over as the owner at The Scrap Room Kit Club.  There are some darling kits she's had so far.  I'm truly trying to resist as I have sooo many supplies but I'm not sure how long I'll be able to resist.  She has a monthly Guest DT challenge.  This month's is to use this sketch:

Isn't it so cute?  So here is my take on it using photos of my daughter's new pet hedgehog, Pi.  Isn't he so cute?

Well, that's it for today.  I'll be back tomorrow with a few more to share.  Thanks for stopping by!

It's about Time!

Life has kept me way too busy the last year or so and I found myself letting my scrapbook time slip away.  I recently was able to go to a semi-annual scrapbook retreat and had a fabulous time creating.  It reminded me why I love to scrapbook and I've realized how important it is for me to make time to create each week.  So hopefully I'll be having more blog posts to share what I'm creating.

I thought I'd split up my posts and share a little each day so as to not overwhelm you.  First up:

Here one of my son's graduation announcement.  This is for the 3 Scrappy Friends March Challenge, which involves 3 challenges.  The first challenge is from Rochelle Spears to use either Chevrons or Polka Dots.  The 2nd challenge from Brenda Ragsdale is to use her sketch

The third challenge by Kelly is to be inspired by this cute inspiration board.

I chose to use polka dots and from the inspiration board I chose to use the green, blue, white color combo, hearts, and twine.   Here is what I created:

Here's one more using a fun double sketch by Laura Whitaker(truly one of my favorite sketch artists) for ScrapMuch? Isn't this sketch great?  I like a double layout for vacation and big event photos.

And here is my take on it using photos from an Oregon Coast Vacation a few years ago.  I was proud of myself too for using some very old papers from MME.  It always feels good to use up my stash!

I'll be back soon with more from my scrapbook retreat.  Thanks for stopping by!
