It's time for another fun challenge at The Memory Nest.  This challenge is a color challenge with a twist.  Here's the color combo.  Isn't it so cute.  And the twist is to incorporate flowers.  ALL who link up to challenges #7 and 8 have a chance to WIN some fun craft supplies.

Here is what I created using some old MME stash.

I also scraplifted a layout by Michelle Gallant from My Scraps for this challenge.
Here is the original, which I love!

A happy surprise

We've been gone this last week enjoying the Oregon Coast as a family.  We had a wonderful time and appreciated the cooler temperatures there.  On our long drive back home last night, I got a fun email that was a nice surprise.  I was chosen to be the Guest Designer at Back Porch Memories!  Back Porch Memories is a fabulous kit club that offers a Solo kit, which is all one line as well as a Medley kit, which is a mix of 3 different lines.  Here are this month's kits:

Solo:

                                                                             Medley:

My kit will be the September kit so I'm not sure what it will hold but I'm sure it will be fabulous!  I'm excited for this one month opportunity and hope you'll join in on the challenges.  Be sure and hop on over and check out Paula's fun kits.  Thanks for letting me share!

Sketchabilities Sketch #97

It's time again for another fun sketch by Karan Gerber from Sketchabilities.  I have thoroughly enjoyed her sketches!  Here is sketch #97

And here is my take on it using Basic Grey's Hey Boy/Hey You lines.  This was a really fun sketch and I finally used my Tim Holtz gear die and Stampin Up! gear punch.

Our sponsor for this sketch is Quick Quotes.  We are so thankful for our sponsors for providing so generously so you can have a chance to win a prize from them!  Thank you Quick Quotes! I look forward to seeing what each of you create!

Color Me Scrappy Challenge 45

Here's my 2nd and last layout for the Guest Designer spot for Color Me Scrappy.  I loved working with the challenges this month!  Thanks to CMS for having me!  This week's challenge is a color challenge with a twist.  Here is the color challenge:

And the Twist is to Use Fabric

Here is my layout for this challenge.  I used a sketch from My Scraps and More

Here is the sketch:

And here is my layout.  The fabric I used is this fun mesh type fabric.  I've had it for years but never had a chance to use it.  I cut circles with my 50 cent Sizzix die I got at a yard sale and layered them with a brad in the center.  Then I cut a strip of the yellow and ruffled and stitched it down.

Making Rolls

Well once again I finally made some time to scrap.  Sometimes it's a good thing I have deadlines or who knows how often I'd scrap.  This month over at Memorable Seasons, we are having a Members Challenge Us Crop, where we as the members issue challenges.  Today was my turn.  Recently I've been doing more and more of the color challenges and I've really been enjoying them.  They are a true challenge as rarely can I find a line with all the colors in them.  So it makes me go through my stash and find papers that will work.  With as much as I own I'm usually able to find something.  So here is the color challenge I issued today:

And last night while I was at Archivers, taking advantage of their patterned paper sale, I saw these perfect papers from MME Cut and Paste collection.  Plus I found this fun sketch from Paper Secrets and knew I had to add in that challenge as well paper layering from Colorful Creations and My Scraps and More.  Here is the sketch:
The twist is to use word embellies

Here is my layout:

Oh..and I was inspired by a challenge I saw Rochelle Spears post at Red Carpet Studio.  It's what gave me the idea to hand stitch my circles.
Thanks for stopping by!  I'd love to see you come and participate in my challenge at Memorable Seasons.  I'm offering a RAK to one participant.

The Memory Nest Summer Challenge #5

So happy to share with you today a new color and sketch challenge from The Memory Nest!  Today's color challenge was a challenge for me.  I don't use much purple.  It's very unique but luckily I found a perfect line from LYB. There are some fabulous examples from the other Chickadees as well, so be sure and check them out.  Here is the color and sketch:

And here is my take on it using some fun photos of my dd and mom in Hawaii

Be sure and stop by The Memory Nest and share your take on this challenge. There will be a prize for one lucky winner who participates in both Challenges #5 and #6.  I look forward to seeing what you create!

Color Me Scrappy Guest Designer

I was thrilled to be asked as a Guest Designer at Color Me Scrappy for the month of August!  I've been enjoying their fun color challenges and the twists that go along with them.  This challenge is a color combined with a sketch, which I had fun with.  Here is the color palette:
And here is the sketch:

I've been seeing a fun technique using triangles and have been wanting to try it so I chose to use those instead of the hexagons.  Then found this fun photo that went horizontal rather than vertical so replaced the journaling strips with my photo and the photo is now patterned paper.  I had fun with it.

Thanks for stopping by. Come by and play along with Color Me Scrappy.  You have 2 weeks to complete this challenge and link it up.
