The Scrap Room Flavor of the Month Kit

Hi!  Hope your week is going well!  I finally took the plunge and decided to subscribe to The Scrap Room Flavor of the month Kit.  I have been longingly looked at them since January and decided it was time to subscribe, even though I shouldn't be buying a single sheet of paper LOL.  I have sooo many papers!  But I {heart} patterned paper!  Plus on the facebook group and blog they offer challenges.  Next to patterned paper, challenges are my next favorite.

Here is this month's kit.  LOVE IT!!

Here is the sketch from the blog:

And here is my take on it using the Crate Paper Cute Girl Line:

Loved this cute floral paper!  I did add the small dotted paper from my stash as well as the flowers but otherwise it's from my kit.  I love that I can get 2-3 layouts done and not add to my stash(or least I'm hoping to conquer them each month :)

I've also created a few others from the kit using challenges on the Facebook Group.

This one I created first...I loved this Echo Park I Love Family Line!  I also added a few items from a Simple Stories fall line from a few years ago.  They matched perfectly!  This is a photo of me, my mom and 2 sisters on Thanksgiving.  I used a Throwback Sketch from the Facebook Group:

Here's the sketch

And here's one I created for the Freaky Fast Challenge using the Simple Stories Posh line.  This is me and my mom on Mother's day last year.  Love this FFF challenge each month!
Here's the challenge:

Be sure and check out the Kits at The Scrap Room.  I'm totally loving mine and am so happy I joined their club!  Thanks for stopping by!

The Memory Nest - Let's Party

Hello!  Today I'm sharing a layout created with a sketch by Leslie at The Memory Nest for Make It Monday Challenge 73.  I enjoyed playing with this sketch and loved using up some old Jillibean Soup papers.

Here's the sketch:

And here is my take on it.  Thanks for the inspiration Leslie!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous rest of the week!

Scrap Our Stash

September Book Inspired Stash Challenge
So this last challenge I created was for Scrap Our Stash.  They had a Book Inspire challenge with this cover.  I chose to be inspired by the school theme and even tried to use similar colors though the shades are a bit different.

Lastly...here is a layout I created just because.  This is my same son last year after he got his license.  Look at the difference in his hair?!

Thanks for your patience with the sharing of all my latest scrappy creations.  Thanks for all the inspiration for those that take the time to create sketches and challenges!  I do love this hobby!

The Memory Nest

I love Leslie over at The Memory Nest.  She's one of the nicest people you'll meet!  Years ago I designed for her so I always try and see what challenges she has going on.  This is the sketch challenge she issued earlier this month:

With the photos I used,  I couldn't quite make it work this way so I turned it to create my layout.  Again..I pulled out some old Fancy Pants products (let's be honest it's been so long since I scrapped regularly that all my stash is old).  I remember when this line came out and I just LOVED it but have found that it's not as easy to use as you'd think.  But still, it seemed perfect for these photos of my sister, my daughter and I getting pedicures for my daughter's 21st birthday.  It was the first summer she didn't come home so I went to see her to celebrate with her.
Oh, and I love patterned paper so much that I added more than the sketch called for so hopefully that's ok.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Let's Get Sketchy & More Than Words Challenges

So here is one I combined. You know life is so much easier and more fun with a sketch to start with.  I opted for this one from Let's Get Sketchy
.
And on my facebook group about Scrapbook Challenges I found this fun one from a site I've never seen: More Than Words which is a word with a twist.  Here is the one I participated in and hopefully did it right.

I opted for the Art Recipe though this Easter Bread is a family tradition.  This photo was taken this year and it was wonderful to have all 3 of my kids home this year.

Once again...thanks for stopping by.  Just a few more and I'll be done.

Scrappy Friends Challenge

One of my go to challenges each month -  if I have time to scrap - is the Scrappy Friends which is hosted by Rochelle Spears and Brenda Ragsdale (love both of their sketches).  This month the 2 challenges are:

Rochelle issues a This or That Challenge  and Brenda issues a fun sketch to use

Cute, huh?  So here is my take for this challenge.  Again..I got a fun new kit from Simple Stories and just HAD to use it.  This photos is super old but it went great with these papers. For Rochelle's challenge I used Enamel Shapes.  Besides the enamel dots I used the Geotag enamel piece.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous week!

Stuck Sketches

I just love a good sketch.  One of my favorite artists that creates them is Laura Whitaker.  Here is the sketch challenge at Stuck Sketches.  I'm  hoping to use her latest one too but it's September is almost over. How can that be?!

And here is my take.  I loved this photo of my darling niece!  She just makes me smile!  I used some old Echo Park.  The colors were perfect for this photo.

See...she's adorable, huh?!  Okay...thanks for checking this one out.

And just for fun, here is a layout I created using one of Laura's sketches from awhile back (sorry I don't remember what site or month it's from).  It was fun to explore the options of the ampersand and all the paper strips.

Off to create another post to share more from my retreat.  Thanks to Laura for these fun sketches!

It's been way too long!

Wow!  It's been way too long since I scrapped!  Luckily, I was able to go to my semi-annual Scrapbook Retreat and I got quite a few layouts done.  I love a good challenge so most of the ones I created are for a challenge so there will be multiple posts so I can share them on the different sites.  Thanks for understanding

This first layout is for a sketch challenge at The Scrap Room Blog.  If I can get myself to scrap more regularly I am totally getting Rochelle's kits.  They are awesome!  But until them I'm using up my old stash.  Here is the sketch challenge:

And here is my layout using it.  I pulled out some super old Bo Bunny stash and then flipped the sketch as I liked it better with my embellishments.  Oh...and no matter how hard I try I just can't angle my photos!  I think I'm too anal/OCD to do it.

Here's one I created just because I had that darling Simple Stories Summer kit and I just HAD to use it.  These photos are from a trip to the Oregon Coast several years ago.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous week!

New Car

I got the chance to play again.  This time I chose a combined challenge at Scrap Our Stash.

From the columns I chose My Mind's Eye(most of the papers are MME combined with Heidi Swap), Naples Yellow and October Afternoon(the date rub-on and the little mint green tab.  Here's what I created using photos of my daughter with her new Jeep.

In addition to these 2 challenges at Scrap our Stash I also used a challenge on the Facebook page for The Scraproom to use enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fabulous rest of your week!

Together Again

I thought I'd share another layout I created combing two challenges.  The first is from The Scraproom Facebook group.  It's a color challenge:

And I combined it with this darling sketch by Laura Whitaker on her blog Stuck?! Sketches

Here is what I created using the two.  I used this fun line from Pebbles, Inc. This is my mom and her sisters last month.  They haven't been all together for years.  It was fun to see them all together again.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure and check out both sites for more fun challenges!

Lovely Ladies

I finally found some time to scrap.  It seems that there are fewer and fewer opportunities to play but I squeezed a little bit of time in.  I combined two challenges:

This first one is for ScrapMuch?.  It's a color challenge. You have to use 4 of the colors.  I used all of them but the robins egg turned out more of a green.

And I combined it with the Freaky Fast Friday challenge at The Scraproom.

And here is my take on it:

It's hard to tell in the photo but a few of the banner pieces and the title is gold.  I had fun working with these colors and the FFF challenges are always s fun challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous day!

Scrappy Friends April Challenge

Nothing like waiting to the last minute but I finally found some time to scrap.  The link is closed(I guess I thought we had through today but I was wrong :) but I wanted to play along anyway.  I love these challenges from Rochelle, Kelly and Brenda!  I have such a good time creating with their challenges.  Here are this month's 3 Challenges

Rochelle's This or That:

Brenda's Sketch was to choose of these three.  Of course I chose the single photo sketch.

And Kelly's was to use this inspiration board,  I was inspired by the pastel colors.

Here is my take on all three challenges.  I used some old Simple Stories (one of ultimate fav manufacturers.
Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

The ScrapRoom Guest DT Challenge

I love a great sketch and Rochelle Spears creates amazing ones that I love.  She owns The ScrapRoom Kit Club and she has a monthly challenge for a Guest Designer.  I love her kits and one day I will definitely sign up but I need to start scrapping much more regularly before I do.  Here's a sample of her kits for this month.  I like how she gives you products from four different lines.  I love that about her kits!

Here's the sketch for the challenge.  I chose to rotate it.

I used Carpe Diem Papers from Simple Stories, which she has in the April FOTM.  Love the colors!
And here is my layout:

This is my cute little niece.  Loved this photo of her.  Thanks for stopping by!
  Have a fabulous weekend!

Stuck?! Sketches and Counterfeit Kit Club

So earlier this month I found time to scrap but forgot to post it.  I combined two challenges:

The first is using my Counterfeit Kit Club kit I created.  Here is my kit using this inspiration

Here is my kit that I created:

And then I used this fabulous sketch by Laura Whitaker from Stuck?! Sketches.  As you know she's always a favorite of mine.  Isn't it fabulous?

Here is my take using the kit and the sketch:

I wish I had been able to use more of this kit as I really liked it and I really NEED to use up more of my stash.  I truly have way too many supplies and I need to cut that stash down.
Thanks for stopping by!

Scrap our Stash Book Inspired Stash Challenge

Hey there.  I was able to get this challenge done over at Scrap Our Stash.

My colors weren't quite as bright but they are similar plus I chose to use the banner as those are on most of my layouts anyway. I also used a white background like the color of the wall.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a happy, scrappy day!

The Scraproom Freaky Fast Friday Challenge

Over at The Scraproom there was a challenge to use this formula to create a layout.

I found this old Disney photo and got to work.  Here is what I created

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a fabulous day!
