Stuck Sketches

While at my scrappy retreat last week, I worked on several projects. I love a great sketch so chose to use one from Stuck Sketches. Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it. I kept it pretty true to the sketch. This is my husband and son getting the Boise State's QB autograph. I know the photos aren't great but this was an exciting day for "my boys" since they are huge BSU fans.

I'll be back to add more as I get them photographed. Fun sketch...go give it at try.

Page Maps

While preparing to go on my Scrappy Retreat last week, I was printing up the latest Page Maps sketches and found this fun challenge to use this sketch for a chance to win Imaginesce products. I love a great sketch so had to play along. Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it. This is my daugther and her friend who went out one night. I used Cosmo Cricket Social Club.

Sketches in Thyme Sketch #73

It's sketch thyme again at Sketches in Thyme and it's double the fun. Here is this week's sketch:

And here is my take on it using photos of dh and his special recipe for BBQ sauce he named Lawman's Pep'ry BBQ Sauce. We bottled some a few years ago and sold it to family and friends.

Be sure and stop by and share your take on one of the sketches this month. We'd love to have you join us!

Memorable Seasons Throwdown Contest

Over at Mememorable Seasons, we are having a Throwdown Contest where we offer a recipe and you create your own version following the recipe. We offer weekly prizes for those that complete both of the weekly challenges so come on over and check them out. I'm in charge of offering up the challenges this week. Here they are:
1 - Since the tray is round I want you to use a large circle on your card
2 - Since we all have to eat some of that tasty dip use white or cream as your base
3 - Choose at least 2 "veggies" from the tray to add.
*crinkle cut carrots: use chevron or ric rack design somewhere
*celery: hand cut work
*olives: bling
*broccoli: texture
*radishes: a pop of red
*cucumbers: ribbon
*peppers: 3 pp's (since our veggie tray usually has red, green and yellow peppers in it)

And here is my card for it using my March DT kit October Afternoon Sasparilla:

Now onto the Entree Challenge:

Who doesn't love lasagna?
So with this yummy entree in mind I want to see you follow this recipe for lasagna:
1. Noodles have wavy edge so I'd like to see at least 3 different treatment/punches on your paper edges
2. Lasagna is created by making layers. Use at least 3 layers on your layout
3. Looking at the photo above, you'll notice that there are 3 main colors in lasagna(red, cream, brown) so your layout must consist of only 3 colors, though they can be any 3 colors you'd like. You may add one neutral but for the most part just stick to 3 colors.

Now like any recipe you may add any additional items you'd like to your "lasagna" but the above 3 elements must be present.

And here is my layout using my March DT Kit:
Come on over and play along with us. We will have 6 weeks of challenges! We'd love to have you join us!

October Afternoon Sasparilla MS DT kit

I got my DT from Memorable Seasons and I was lucky enough to get October Afternoon's Sasparilla! Love it! Here is a photo of my kit:
Each month at Memorable Seasons we choose a Member of the Month who we honor by scraplifting one of their layouts. This month it is Louise (boysmom). Here is the layout I created using this one of hers as my inspiration.
Here is my take using my DT kit. This photo is of dh and I at a Pioneer Trek last summer. The "papers" on the left side are the backsides of some of the journaling cards.
Be sure and stop by and check out Louise's inspiration. Also starting next week we are having our annual Throwdown Competition. There will be two challenges a week and this is a non-voting event so everyone has a chance. I'd love to see you join in with us.
